The GFATM and UNDP/HARPAS are organizing a workshop entitled “Towards an Enhanced Engagement of Civil Society in the Global Fund Grants in the Middle East and North Africa Region”, during which 70 CSO representatives and technical partners was held in Cairo, Egypt (4th-6th Sept. 2007).
This workshop was aiming to promote exchange communication and support between/among people living with and affected by the three diseases, including representatives of national networks participating in Global Fund processes throughout the MENA Region. The participants identified gaps/challenges regarding the capacities of the civil society working in Global Fund processes to work towards a greater participation and understanding of how the Global Fund works at all levels of its architecture. Finally, they worked on how to create a genuine environment for the expression and exchange of experiences, challenges and ideas for ways working for people living with and affected by the three diseases. |
